📌 Required Documents for Visa Interview
Before attending your visa interview, make sure you have the following documents prepared:
- Valid Passport: Must be valid for at least six months beyond your intended stay in the U.S.
- Form I-20: The official document issued by your school (SHSU) confirming your admission and SEVIS ID.
- SEVIS Fee Receipt: Proof of payment for the I-901 SEVIS fee, which confirms your registration in the SEVIS system.
- Visa Appointment Confirmation: Printout of the appointment confirmation and interview instructions from the visa scheduling website.
- DS-160 Confirmation Page: The confirmation with the barcode that you received after completing the DS-160 application form.
- Firat University Official Transcript (in English): An official transcript from your Firat university, it should be English if necessary.
- SHSU Unofficial Transcript: Log in to mysam.shsu.edu → go to “Student Records” → select “Unofficial Transcript” and print the page.
- CV/Resume: A brief summary of your academic and personal background.
- Bank Statement: A recent bank statement showing sufficient funds (e.g., $39,110) to cover your educational expenses.
- Sponsor's Bank Statement: A recent financial statement from your sponsor, showing their ability to support your education (if applicable).
- Financial Sponsor's Work Proof: Proof of employment or income from the person who will financially support your education (if applicable).
- Proof of Ties to Home Country: Documents showing strong ties to your home country, such as land or property ownership, family business documents (e.g., proof your father owns a company), or a letter stating your intention to work for the family business after graduation.
- MRV Fee Receipt: Proof of payment for the Machine Readable Visa (MRV) fee, required for the interview.
- Scholarship Plan Proof: Go to mysam.shsu.edu → Financial Aid Dashboard → Offers section → print the page showing awarded scholarships.
